Cheque Presentation

Swimathon raises more than £12,000
"THE 2010 Wimborne Rotary Swimathonhas once more been a huge success," said the president Howard Smith.
Despite the recession, people have given generously to be 200 swimmers who took part and the grand total of the sponsorship money and Gift Aid came to £12,046.
This money was distributed to John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation £2, 691, Lewis Manning Hospice £3,394, Parents and Children Together £2,563 and £3,396 to 20 other charities. The total for all the annual Wimborne Rotary Swimathons has generated over £130,000 for various charities.
The next Swimathon will be held on Sunday 29th tow bar at the Canford School Sports Centre Facility.
The charity, select it for the 2011 Swimathon are Mencap, West Parley Disabled Riding and Forest Home Support Group and 40% of the money raised will personally go to any other charity which each team selects.

Course to help upset parents.
TROUBLE with toddlers or teenagers?
Charity Parents and Children Together is holding parenting courses over the next 6 months.
A "confidence boost." Workshop runs on June 14 and 21 and October 11 and 18.
Parenting courses lasting 6 to 7 weeks starting June and November.

Give Yourself a Boost.
if you feel that your confidence needs a boost, then local parenting charity PACT (Parents and Children Together) has the answer.
PACT is running one of their popular Confidence Based Workshops on Wednesday, 9, and 16 February. Both will be held at the Allendale Centre, Wimborne between 7 and 9 PM.
Although the Confidence Boost Workshops only last for 4 hours in total, the benefits experienced by people attending are tangible. Attendees are taught strategies on improving their self esteem, including the self talk cycle. The effectiveness of the workshop is largely due to the skills of a facilitator Penny Nicholas. Penny has over 10 years experience in personal development and is well respected for her professionalism and approachability.
The forthcoming workshops are possible due to a grass roots grant from the Community Foundation in Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole.

PACT is running two of their popular Confidence Boost Workshops over the coming weeks. Each workshop is held over 2 evenings, 8:53 PM there is one workshop on Monday 24 31st of January and another on Wednesday night and 16 February both will be held at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne.
The forthcoming workshops are possible due to a Grassroots Grant from the Community Foundation in Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole.
